I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the College of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I lead the Sustainable Computing Lab, which focuses on designing distributed software systems with an emphasis on improving efficiency and sustainability. I am the Smart Energy Lead for the Center for Smart and Connected Society (CS2), and an affiliate of both the Energy Transition Institute and the Center for Data Science, all at UMass Amherst. I am also a member of, and helped establish, ACM's Special Interest Group on Energy Systems and Informatics (SIGENERGY).
